The CHS Girls Softball Team will be hosting the Colon Cancer Awareness "Care Game" for their home game against Mahomet next Friday, May 8th. Follow the link to order a t-shirt to support the cause & event: https://coloncancergame2026.itemorder.com/shop/home/
The deadline to order a shirt in time for the game is this Sunday, May 3rd & shirts will be available to pick up at the game. Proceeds from the shirt orders will be supporting a family member of one of our softball players that has been diagnosed with colon cancer this year. We encourage you to wear blue even if you can't order a shirt! 💙🥎🩵

Senior Avery Beals has now claimed THREE Career Softball Records for Charleston High School! 🥎🏆👏
Junior year, she broke the runs scored record. (Previous record was 163; she now has 194 and counting.) Earlier this year, she broke the steals record. (Previous record was 127; she currently has 135 and counting.) This past Friday, she surpassed the hits record of 235, which was held by our current Softball Coach Macey McElravy! Avery now has 237 hits and counting. We are so proud of this amazing athlete and her many accomplishments here at CHS!

Mrs. Sanders' class had a wonderful time visiting CCAR, where students created games, crafts, and activities. It was a special experience for everyone!

CHS Post Prom Pajama Party will take place this year after prom on Saturday, May 2nd @ Baker Gym from 10pm - 2am. There will be a DJ, snacks, games, prizes, and fun for all! Tickets are $5/student or $8/couple and will be on sale to upperclassmen starting next week (during lunch only) by the prom ticket sales. (This event is being brought to you by the Charleston Booster Club!)

Charleston High School junior Treylin Couch broke the 200M track record this past Tuesday April 14th with a time of 22.16! (The record was previously held by Iheanyi Obia back in 1999.) 👏🏆

Mrs. Engelke’s American History class had the opportunity to visit the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum today. They had the chance to walk through an exhibit with pictures, artifacts, and personal testimonies as well as speak to the child of a Holocaust survivor. We are so thankful to have such amazing experiences for our students here at CUSD1!

Prom is May 2nd this year for Charleston High School juniors and seniors! Tickets are $20 each and they go on sale next week. Guest pass forms are available in the main office if you plan to bring someone that is not a CHS student.

Stop by between 2:00–6:30 p.m. to support our students and grab some beautiful plants for your home or garden. We’d love to see our school and community come out and grow with us!
