Today’s Announcements are for Thursday, September 22, 2022
With this Friday being the 4th Friday of the month, there will be no assigned WIN time.
62% of all book challenges occur in schools and school libraries. “The Bluest Eye” by Toni Morrison, “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee, “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck, “The Absolutely True Story of a Part-Time Indian” by Sherman Alexie and “Speak” by Laurie Halse Anderson are among the most commonly banned books. While books have been and continue to be banned, part of the Banned Books Week celebration is the fact that, in a majority of cases, the books have remained available. Come down to the CHS Media Center to see the display of books frequently challenged or banned. And any student checking out a book this week can choose a sticker to put on a water bottle, notebook, or laptop case.
