Today’s Announcements are for Tuesday, September 13, 2022

 Science club is hosting a community blood drive on Thursday, September 15th in Baker Gym. Students 16 and older are eligible to donate with parental consent. Please pick up a consent form from the front office and scan the QR code to set up an appointment. Your donations help our local community hostpitals. 

 There will be a Science club meeting during WIN B today in room #207. If you have either WIN, please email or see Ms. H so that she can contact your WIN teachers.  We will discuss recycling, the blood drive, and future excursions.

E-Sports meeting will be today at 3:30pm in Mr. Gunther’s room followed by Smash bros practice from 4-5.

Girls soccer is having two skills and conditioning practices each week in September and October. Schedules are  available in Mrs. Gowin’s office for anyone who is interested.

There will be a student council meeting on Wednesday September 14th. Executive officers meet at 5:00, general membership meet at 6:00. The meeting should be over by 7:00. Please enter through the cafeteria doors and meet in Mrs. Doughty’s room. 

The CHS Theater will be presenting a Murder Mystery Theater on October 21st and 22nd. If you would like more information, there will be a meeting on Thursday, Sept. 15th in the choir room from 6-6:30pm.

Do you enjoy public speaking? Have an interest in radio broadcasting? Are there any movies, books, or shows that have characters you wish you could act out? The CHS speech and drama team could be the place for you.  We will be having a team kick off meeting on Monday, Sept. 19th at 5:30pm in the choir room.

Students & Staff: Trojan Brew is back and in a new location. Please stop by to see us in room 236 just down from the media center. We will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday most weeks, unless noted. Come enjoy a hot or iced coffee or a hot chocolate. Seasonal drinks and yummy treats will be added this year too. Hope to see you all there!

 Attention Senior girls:  The P.E.O. star scholarship information packets are available in Mrs. Meeker’s (guidance) office. Applicants must have a GPA of 4.0.

 This Friday will be an early dismissal.  You will meet with all of your classes on this day and be dismissed at 1:20pm.

JUNIORS- The PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test will be offered at CHS on Wednesday, October 12 from 7:50 am-11:30 am.  Sign-up takes place in the Guidance Office. Pay the $18.00 test fee and pick up a study guide by Friday, September 30.  This is a firm deadline.  We are limited to 30 students, please sign up as soon as possible to guarantee your spot.

Juniors and seniors- If you are interested in going into a career in diesel technology, Diesel Day at Wabash Valley College on October 5 is for you!  If you are interested please email Mrs. Meeker or stop and see her in the guidance office before Tuesday, September 27.

 Lake Land College is hosting a Career Day for juniors and seniors! This is an opportunity for you to hear from professionals, more about a career you're interested in.  There will also be over 50 different college representatives for you to speak to.  This is a great event, and your attendance is strongly encouraged.  If you have any questions or plan to attend, please contact your guidance counselor as soon as possible so they can provide directions for you to register.  Career Day is Tuesday, October 4th!     

 Come out and cheer on your classmates tonight.  There will be a home soccer game and home Volleyball game. The theme for the volleyball game is pajamas.
