  • Ladies and Gentlemen, it's time for Red Roses and Romance at CHS!!!  Sadie Hawkins Dance will be February 21st in Baker Gym. Tickets will go on sale Feb 11th for $10 per person.

    • Guest passes are available in the office.

    • They are due Feb 18th

    • Remember, GIRLS ASK THE GUYS!

 

  • " There will be a brief science club meeting during WIN A today. Everyone is welcome!

    • Sophomores, please check your email for the minutes.

 

  • “If anyone is interested in playing Valorant, Overwatch 2, Pokémon Unite, Rocket League, League of Legends, or Marvel Rivals, come see Mr. Gunther or Mr. Shamhart by Friday 1/16/26"

 

  • "There will be a girls soccer meeting in the West Gym on Thursday during WIN A. This meeting is for any girls interested in playing soccer this Spring".

 

  •  There will be a meeting for Girls Golf on Thursday at noon in the Conference Room by the Guidance Office. All current golfers returning for the Fall 2026 season and any girls interested in playing next fall.

 

  • Brrr… it’s cold out there! 

    The Thread n’ Gold Clothing Room is stuffed with winter goodies—coats, gloves, and hats galore! If your ears are freezing or your coat has seen better decades, we’ve got you covered (literally).

    • Come find us in the basement, Room 107. Fill out a card, drop it in our mailbox, and grab what you need. Best part? Everything is FREE. Yes, free-free. No strings. No gold thread required.

 

  • The following scholarships were just added to the Local Scholarship page on the CHS guidance website. 

    • Casey State Bank

    • First Federal Savings and Loan of Central Illinois Scholarship

    • Merv Baker Athletic Award-Trojan Booster Club

    • P.E.O Community Scholarship Chapter CF

 

  • The Lake Land College Presidential Scholarship application is available in the guidance office. To be eligible for the award, the student must be within the top 15% of their senior class, have an ACT composite score of 26 or a SAT total score of 1230. Students can stop in the guidance office to pick up a form. 

 

  • Attention sophomores and juniors! The Fall 2026 Internship application is now open.

    • This week, guidance counselors will meet with you to begin registration for the 2026-27 school year.

    • They will provide a handout with details on how to apply. You also received an email last week that includes a link to the application materials and can also find details on our district social media.

    • The deadline for all applications, which are completed in SchooLinks, as well as three teacher recommendations are due by Friday, February 27, 2026. Please see Mrs. Niebrugge with questions.

 

  • The first track practice for Boys Track is January 13th in the basement starting at 3:30. If you can run fast or can jump high – We would love to see you there!

 

  • Attention current 10th grade students: Counselors will meet with all current 10th grade students in the auditorium today from 11:30-12:00 to pass out registration forms for the 26-27 school year.

 

  • Attention current 9th grade students: Counselors will meet with all current 9th grade students in the auditorium on Wednesday, January 14 from 11:30-12:00 to pass out registration forms for the 26-27 school year.
