Want to do something to help families in need right here in Charleston? The CHS Tri-M Music Honor Society Students are sponsoring a meal kit food drive to assist families currently facing food insecurity. Each meal kit contains a recipe card and all of the items needed to cook an easy meal for a family of 4-6 using shelf stable food items. To get involved with this project, swing by the "Friendsgiving Tree" located outside the Auditorium and grab a leaf off the tree with a shopping list for a meal kit. Purchase the items on the shopping list and return them in a bag to the choir room with the shopping list card by Monday, November 10 to the Choir Room for our Tri-M members to organize for distribution. We would like to have these meal kits available by next week. Thank you for showing love and kindness through sharing a meal with your neighbors.

We will be holding our November Lunch, Listen, and Learn Session on Monday, November 10th. Help us welcome EIU Art Professor, Dr. Brad Olson, as he presents a session on the different types of Art degrees available and how an Art degree could help you achieve your desired career goals. The presentation will begin at 11:40am, so be sure to grab your lunch before you come down for the entirety of the WIN/lunch hour. Make sure to check in with your WIN teacher to get permission to attend. WIN students will be asked to sign in and out of the lecture. Baker Gym/Music area will be closed for WIN A and B on this day.

The CHS Interact Club is hosting a fundraiser to benefit Breakthrough T1D, an organization dedicated to funding research and improving the lives of those affected by type 1 diabetes.

Throughout the month of November, Interact members will be collecting donations before school and during lunch. Make a donation and receive a baked good as a thank-you! 🍪

·      And don’t forget — Tuesday, November 25th is Hat Day at CHS!

Make a $1 donation to the fundraiser, receive a blue ticket, and you’ll be allowed to wear your favorite hat on Hat Day! You must have your blue ticket as proof to participate."

Friendly reminder that Tuesday, November 11th is student attendance day.  We are looking forward to celebrating our Veterans here at CHS.
