Announcements for Tuesday, September 16, 2025

Good morning CHS!

·         Freshman students and WIN teachers: The National Honor Society Tutoring center is now open during WIN A. Students should get a blue pass from their teacher and head to Ms. Peterson’s room to get homework help from our very smart NHS members!

·         The South Central FS Scholarship is now available for students to apply on the CHS Guidance website under local scholarships. The deadline to apply is November 30, 2025. If students need help locating the scholarship application, they should come down to the guidance office for help.

·         Seniors – the EIU Martin Luther King Jr essay scholarship contest has been posted on the CHS guidance local scholarship page. The flyer has also been emailed to all senior students.

·         The yearbook staff would love to see your best homecoming dance photos! Upload them using the “help us tell your story” QR code posted around the school or email them to Mr. Cohoon.  We just might use them in this year’s book.

·         Have you ever wanted to perform with your friends here at CHS? Do you love the music of Broadway? This month's student recital may be just right up your alley! Put together a Broadway song to perform by yourself or with friends to perform for the school on Wednesday, September 24th during the Lunch/WIN period. Make sure to scan the QR code on the posters around the school to schedule a check-off with Mrs. Sharp before the 9/18 deadline!

·         Come to the Thread n’ Gold clothing room and help us clear out our summer clothing to make room for our fall and winter clothing.  Stop by room 107 in the basement to fill out a request card.  As always, everything is free!

·         Marissa Stapleton with EIU will be here during lunch on Wednesday, September 17th.

·         Boys varsity soccer dismissed at 1:45. Girls golf at 2:30. Volleyball at 3:05. Girls tennis at 3:00.
