CMS students enjoy a few games to celebrate the completion of Habit 1: Be Proactive. Students will spend the next month learning skills and ways to set goals and follow them through as they begin with the end in mind.




CMS celebrates proactive students!
On Friday, October 1, CMS held an assembly to honor kids who have showcased the skills and work ethic it takes to be proactive which is the first habit of Leader in Me.
Many of the current student athletes and student club/organization members were recognized as well as it takes proactive skills to manage school and other responsibilities.

8 Gold held the second team building competition for The Gnome trophy this week. Congratulations to Mr. Spear’s EPIC class for winning Tug of War!!




Sarah Bush Lincoln Dental Services will be coming to the Charleston Middle School on 1/5/2022. CMS Girls' Basketball
CMS girls' basketball tryouts are Wednesday, September 1st and Thursday, September 2nd from 6:30 A.M. -8 .A.M. All paperwork must be turned into the office before tryouts.

The 8G Team held a Punt, Pass, Kick between all five 8G EPIC classes. The winning class gets to house the trophy: The Gnome. Mr. Spear's EPIC class (pictured) was victorious! Hudson , King, and Veronica represented the winning team (pictured). We will continue more friendly competitions this year for The Gnome.

CMS Girls’ Basketball will kick off at the end of August. Girls basketball tryouts for 7th and 8th grade girls will be on August 30th. Times will be announced next week. Any athlete trying out for the team should bring or have turned in their basic paper work including an up-to-date physical. CMS 7th and 8th graders should turn in their completed physical forms and paper work to the front office at CMS. I wanted to give you a reminder about Teen Reach, also known as the Illinois Coalition for Community Services (CCS). This is a free after-school homework assistance program at CHS, CMS, and Jefferson. At CMS it is held Monday-Friday from 3:30-6:30. If you have an interest in the program, download the forms ( https://5il.co/v7qz) and fill them out. There is a contact number on the form if you have questions.
