Good afternoon CUSD#1 Community:
We have been fortunate to have been able to offer testing for district students who are symptomatic or close contacts in the Test-to-Stay program. We are sorry to inform you, however, that due to our limited supply of COVID-19 test kits, we will no longer be able to offer testing for symptomatic students and students in the Test-to-Stay Program. This is effective immediately. If your child is currently in the Test-to-Stay program, he/she will remain in the program according to the timelines outlined by the school. Beginning this afternoon, January 10th, we will no longer be able to offer the Test-to-Stay option for students when identified as a close contact. Unvaccinated close contacts will be excluded from school for 5 days, according to the new IDPH guidelines, and may return to school on Day 6, if symptom free. Fully vaccinated students, who are identified as a close contact and are symptom free, are not required to quarantine. We anticipate resuming the Test-to-Stay Program on January 18, 2022. We will provide a confirmation of that when we are confident we have received an adequate number of tests needed to resume. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school.
