Guidance

Good afternoon Charleston Students and Families,

We want you all to know that we understand the many challenges our students are facing during this extended school closure. Our school counselors and social workers have set up a way to offer social emotional/mental health support to district students during this time.

If you or your child needs the support of a school counselor or social worker, you can reach out for help by contacting the CUSD#1 Student Support Hotline or by completing a student support request form. The purpose of this hotline and form is to provide support for students Monday through Friday from 8:00-4:00. If a student is in immediate danger or is having a serious crisis, please call 911 or the Crisis Hotline at 1-866-567-2400.

The CUSD#1 Student Support Hotline number is: 217-639-1033. You can also request support by completing the form linked here. Messages and forms are checked regularly during business hours, beginning today, Monday, April 6, 2020. A counselor or social worker will reach out to you as soon as possible.

More information about the hotline, form, and other important mental health resources are on our district website. https://www.charleston.k12.il....

We hope you all are staying safe and healthy and we look forward to seeing you all again someday soon.

Sincerely,
