CMS Operation Christmas Child Donations

 

Each year, both 8th grade teams participate in a service project day.  This years’ service day is November 12.  As a part of their day, 8th grade students will be packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.  Operation Christmas Child is a program that provides for children in need around the world.   For several years, they have collected shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items for children.

The school would love to see both 7th and 8th grade students have the opportunity to donate items.  The goal is to be able to collect as many items as possible so that we can send off as many boxes as possible.  We will be filling boxes for kids aged 2-14. 

Each week, for the next 6 weeks, there will be an item or items that students will be ask to donate.  Almost all of these items can be purchased at Dollar Tree or Dollar General.  There are few specifications that must be followed:

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sept: 28 – Oct. 1 – Hygiene Items

Oct. 4-9 – Clothing

  • Shirt/pants

  • Bracelets (homemade are great)

 

Oct. 11-15 – Crafts & Activities

  • Markers, crayons, colored pencils

  • Playdough

Oct. 18-22 – Toy

  • Ball
  • Kite

Oct. 25-29 – WOW Gift

  • Ball
  • Musical Instrument
  • Jewelry

Nov. 1-5 – Your choice

  • This week bring any last-minute items that you may have missed from previous weeks.
