Friday Spirit Day: Green Day for St. Patrick’s Day
This week CMS staff will be looking for students who look for ways to help others.
March is National Women’s History Month. After signing up for the Boston Marathon in 1966, Bobbi was disqualified from the race because of her gender. She received a letter of rejection that stated women were “not physiologically able to run a marathon.” In fact, women were not allowed to run more than 1.5 miles at the time because they were a “liability,” On the day of the race, Bobbi hid in a bush near the starting line and secretly joined the race, finishing in three hours, 21 minutes, and 40 seconds, becoming the first woman to run a marathon at just 23 years old.
IAR Testing is fast approaching. CMS will be testing the week of April 1-5. Last year CMS had some of the best scores in the district and in the state! We can do this! Take the advice of your teachers! Have a plan! Be sure you are here each day for testing, so you don’t have to sit in a room all day and do makeup tests! Go to bed early and eat a healthy breakfast each morning!
Tomorrow will be a half day. CMS will dismiss at 11:45. Have a great Spring Break!
