Today Fireman Woodley from the Charleston Fire Department came to Ashmore Elementary to conduct a fire safety drill and smoke simulation. Students practiced safely exiting the school and how to safely exit a building when there is smoke.
Always remember to exit a building you suspect may be on fire and call 911 to report it. You can practice a fire evacuation drill at home too so that your family has a plan of where to meet and what to do!

Students in our GATE Program have been working on their projects with Mrs. Cline. Yesterday, they were able to present to their peers in the library. We are so proud of our students and their hard work! If you are wanting to see the projects, they will be presenting this Monday at the CHS Media Center. #ashmorecusd1

Ashmore students are very thankful to family members who came to have a turkey lunch at school! #ashmorecusd1

On Friday Morning, Ashmore Elementary School hosted their first ever Donuts with Dad event. Students were able to start their morning off by having breakfast with their dads, grandpas, uncles, brothers, or special friend of the family. Our school and family communities came together to end the week by practicing Habit 7 and sharpen our saws together. The event was a huge success and over 100 people came together to enjoy breakfast and celebrate each other before the start of the school day. A very big thank you to the Ashmore staff that planned the event and the Ashmore moms that showed up to help serve donuts and drinks.

Ashmore Elementary hosted their first ever Muffins with Mom event this morning, and we couldn't have been happier to share this special morning with our students and their moms, grandmas, and aunts. With over 100 special ladies in attendance, the morning was filled with so many smiles and laughter. It was the perfect way to start the end our week, and allowed us all to practice Habit 7 and sharpen our saws together. Big thank you to our teachers and Miss Becky who planned and organized this event, and the moms who took it upon themselves to help make bouquets and clean up! Next week we are looking forward to our Donuts with Dad event!

Ashmore Elementary students were recognized during today's Community Meeting. Students who had perfect attendance for the month of October received certificates and $5 in Ashmore Bucks. 47% of Ashmore students had perfect attendance in the month of October.

Recently Ashmore Elementary wrapped up their fall fundraiser. The goal was to sell at least $6000 worth of items. The students surpassed their goal by almost $2000! Students discussed during community meetings how they could use the 7 Habits to help meet their goal and support the Ashmore PTO. Every student that sold 7 or more items had the opportunity to pie Mr. Nick Taylor in the face. 31 pies to the face is dedication and shows so much support to our school and students. Thank Ashmore students, parents, and Ashmore PTO for a great fundraiser. Big thank you to Mr. Taylor for being such a good sport! #ashmorecusd1

Ashmore Elementary School students had such a fun afternoon celebrating Halloween with a school wide party, parade, and Trunk or Treating! Big thank you and shout out to the Ashmore Fire Department, Ashmore Prospect Bank, the Ashmore Village Board, Ashmore Township, the Ashmore PTO, and our many parents and volunteers that made such a fun-filled day happen for our students!
