Dear Charleston CUSD#1 Families,
Early in our remote learning adventure, the district reached out to all of you for ideas on our end of the school year procedures. We were impressed with your responses and have used many suggestions as we have planned for the end of the year. One proposal was to have a sign at each school for students to take a picture beside to capture their accomplishment of finishing the school year in remote learning. We have taken that suggestion and made it a reality.
Starting Tuesday 5/12/20, district
maintenance staff will be installing a yard sign at each CUSD#1 school that
states, “I finished this school year through remote learning!” We encourage all
of you to use the next month to take your child’s picture next to the sign at
their school. Please use the hashtag #irockedremote
when posting your pictures to social media to allow us to see everyone’s
smiling faces, as we are just as proud of their accomplishment!
Your health is still a priority so we ask that you be mindful of social
distancing requirements when taking pictures. Only one family is permitted at
the sign at a time. If someone is at the sign when you arrive, please stay in
your car until they finish.
We are proud of our students and their families for taking this situation in stride and rocking remote learning! We look forward to seeing everyone’s pictures.
