Jefferson School has scheduled Parent-Teacher Conferences for Thursday, October 15th & Friday, October 16th. Conferences are available on Thursday the 15th in the evening from 4:00pm – 7:30pm. There will also be conferences offered on Friday the 16th from 8:00am – 3:00pm. Utilizing your Skyward account beginning Friday, October 2nd at 4:00pm, you will have access to sign up for a time slot with your student’s teacher. Upon arrival, we ask the 4th grade parent to enter/exit through the 4th grade hallway on the east side of JES, Door #3, You will be able to park in the gravel lot across from the gym. Upon arrival, we ask the 5th grade parent to enter/exit through the 5th grade hallway on the west side of JES, Door #7. You will be able to park in the staff lot by the playground. Upon arrival, we ask the 6th grade parent to enter/exit through the main entrance on the south side of JES, Door #1. You will be able to park in front of the school or church lots. There will be staff to guide you to the correct doors. In order to provide safety, we will ask that you wait outside until your chosen time nears. Before entering, a temperature check and symptom screening will take place. Face coverings are required. Once approved for entry, we will direct you to your student’s classroom. We also ask that you exit through the doors upon which you entered the building. -Click on the Conferences Tab for your student on the lower left of the screen -Then click on All Conferences -Next click on Select A Time -Finally click on Save -You will receive an email verifying date & time of your conference with the Teacher If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school at 639-7000.

Families of Jefferson 6th grade students: Adhering to the Illinois School Code Sec. 27-8.1. Health examination and immunizations requirements, this is another reminder that you have until Oct. 15th to turn in a school physical and two required vaccinations for your student. If you have not already done so, call as soon as possible to schedule an appointment with your physician, as the deadline is quickly approaching! Please disregard this message if you have turned in your student’s physical and two required vaccinations. We wanted to make you aware that our Virtual Parent/Teacher Q & A via Zoom Meeting originally scheduled for the evening of Monday, August 17th has been postponed. Additional information about a future event will be provided in the next few weeks.

Wednesday, August 12; after 4pm: Classroom Assignments Posted. You will need to log into Skyward to find your student's teacher assignment. You will not be able to see this unless your student is registered and all school fees are paid.

Attention all 6th 7th & 8th grade girls and boys! Cross Country practice is set to begin on Monday August 10th at 7:30am at Charleston Middle School. Cross Country is a no-cut sport and any interested students are encouraged to give it a try. No experience is necessary. Newcomers are brought along gradually and carefully. Our teams compete hard, but also have a great deal of fun playing games and making new friends. Monday is primarily an information day but we will get in a short workout weather permitting. If there are storms we will meet for about 30 minutes inside to discuss the first few weeks of practice and to hand out paper work to anyone who needs it. Athletic packets can be picked up in advance at the CMS office. Students Please drop off and pick up your athletes in the west horseshoe parking lot of CMS. Bring a water bottle! We hope a bunch of you might be brave enough to try something new. Cross Country is a really fun and exciting sport. You must have a current physical on file and must have the Covid player waiver filled out before you can practice. Hello Jefferson Families, The 2019-2020 school yearbooks have arrived and are available for pickup to those who ordered a copy. The JES office will be open from 7:00am - 3:00pm with the exception of 12:00pm - 1:00pm for lunch. Any yearbooks that are not picked up this summer will be distributed to students this fall or sent to Charleston Middle School for last year's 6th grade students. There are a limited amount of copies available at $8.00 apiece for anyone who would like to purchase. Please bring in the exact amount if possible when purchasing.
