Charleston Middle School has had a assembly each year to educate our students about Veterans’ Day and to recognize veterans in our community. Our Veterans’ Day program includes an assembly, lunch or breakfast, veteran recognition, essay contest, and many more activities. The teachers and students at Charleston Middle School donate many hours toward ensuring the success of this program. Even though we will have not have veterans in our building this year for the assembly, we will still plan on having our assembly and recognizing veterans in the community. Each year we rely on donations to help fund this event for Charleston Middle School and for the past two years our funding has decreased. The money goes toward flags and cases for our honored veterans, medals for each of our veterans, and for the cost of the assembly. If you would like to make a donation to the Charleston Middle School Veterans’ Day Committee, we would greatly appreciate this.
