Charleston Middle School -

Good morning, CMS Trojans. Today is Thursday, October 8, 2026.

We are celebrating birthdays of Evan Smallhorn, Analisa Fitzgerald, Maillard Toussaint, Griffin Cunningham, and Luna Watson.

There will be a Student Leadership Council meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 13th at 8:00 in Mrs. Dow’s room.

Do you know a veteran? Maybe a parent or a grandparent? CMS asks you to invite a veteran to this year’s Veterans Day program on Wednesday, November 11 on the campus of EIU.  Please pick up a form in the office or from your Social Studies Teacher.

7th Graders make sure you have your Service Group Applications turned in soon!

 Attention students and staff!

Our Cozy Up for a Cause Body Wash Drive will begin on Tuesday! We're competing with Mattoon Middle School to see who can collect the most donations for families in need. Bring in your donations of body wash and place them in the box outside the office. Help us spread kindness, score points for our school, and make a real difference in our community.

Let's lather up the competition and wash away the challenge!

There will be no school tomorrow October 9th  for a Teacher's Institute and Monday, October 12th for Columbus Day. Enjoy your 4 day weekend!

Our CMS Motto is “Lead with courage and inspire with kindness.”

Discipline 3 is keep a Compelling Scoreboard. Scoreboards help us to know whether we are winning or losing.

For today’s motto moment, let’s ask ourselves, “What tools can we use to show how we’re doing with our strategies and our WIGs?”

Have a Thrilling Thursday!
