Student Leadership meeting in Mrs. Dow’s room Wednesday at 8:00 am. 

Stop by the IMC and place your guess of the number of hearts and kisses in the jars! The winner will be announced on February 14th and receive the candy just in time for Valentine’s Day! 

Students and staff will be able to guess whose baby pictures goes with each CMS staff member. There will be a board set up in the IMC. Once you make your guesses, make sure and put your name on the guess sheet and put it in the envelope on the board, Prizes will be awarded. All guesses are due Thursday, Feb. 15th by 3:30. 

This Friday is No One Eats Alone Day. Across the country thousands of schools will participate by ensuring no one eats alone on this day. We will sit with others on Friday and meet some of our other fellow classmates and community neighbors. We will also have various activities during lunch, help create a “growing” bulletin board, and will even have some of our teachers visit with us during lunch.   

This week CMS staff is looking for students who are respectful to everyone.   Be kind and helpful to everyone! 

Today’s Black History Month spotlight is on Phillis Wheatley. Phillis was the first African American to publish a book of poetry, Poems on Various Subjects, Religious and Moral, in 1773. Born in the Gambia and sold to the Wheatley family in Boston when she was 7 years old, Wheatley was emancipated shortly after her book was released.
