learning walks

Did you know students are not the only ones learning throughout the year? Today at Mark Twain teachers participated in "learning walks", or walk-throughs. Teachers visited other kindergarten classrooms to observe teaching practices and the learning environment. After visiting the room, teachers left notes for their colleagues acknowledging the great things they observed.

Walk-throughs are a research-based, school improvement strategy educators use to improve practices and teacher collaboration. Teachers at Mark Twain decided to participate in "learning walks" as way to help us meet our culture school improvement goal and to give us a chance to learn from one another. You can read our culture goal, along with our other school improvement goals (or WIGS as we call them) here
