We had guests today at Mark Twain from Lakeland College, teaching us all about taking care of our teeth. Thank you LLC dental hygiene students for spending your morning with us!

We collected 136 boxes of cereal to donate to the Food-4-Kids program. To celebrate crushing our goal, we set them up like dominos and watched them topple. WOW! You all really showed up today :) I am so happy I had Student Lighthouse members to help me collect today as it took all of our hands and more! The cereal drive started yesterday at Mark Twain. Each morning two members of the student lighthouse team help Mrs. Titus collect boxes from each classroom. They then count the total number of boxes collected. We will post the total each day. Keep sending those boxes in. #marktwain #twaincusd1 #leaderinme

Mark Twain is partnering with Food-4-Kids and hosting a cereal drive, Jan 14-23. Our goal is to collect 100 boxes of unopened cereal in honor of our 100th day of school (Jan 24). If we get to 100, we will have a fun school wide activity to celebrate our achievement. Cereal can be given to classroom teachers or the front office.

Tomorrow kicks off our color weeks at Mark Twain. Each day we will focus on a new color. Students will be learning how to read and spell the color words, while doing fun activities around that color. We also encourage students to wear the color of the day each day. Tomorrow is Red, White, and Blue

The Mark Twain fall parade is tomorrow at 1:15. Students are allowed to wear their costumes to school.

Mark Twain's Lost and Found is filling up! Photos of the items are labeled with numbers to help identify belongings. If you recognize something that belongs to your child, please reference the item number and let the office or your child's teacher know. Once confirmed, items will be sent home with your child in their book bag. Thank you for helping us reunite these items with their owners!
