Students at Carl Sandburg have been participating in 'Penny Wars' for the last week to help fund future Leader in Me activities! Grade levels are competing for bragging rights and an extra recess! CSE has raised over $1000 already, and students have until Friday to bring in their change!

Mrs. Bosler's third grade classroom celebrated N in their ABC Countdown by having Neon Day! The students got to take part in "Glow Day" activities, including Jenga, Twister, Tic Tac Toe, bowling, bingo, color sheets, checkers, and a multiplication dice game!

Carl Sandburg Lighthouse team members had the opportunity to attend a Kids Leadership Academy hosted by East Richland Elementary School. It was a fun morning of celebrating student and staff efforts for implementing Leader in Me!

Ms. Repking's 1st graders participated in an experiment with EIU practicum student, Mrs. Davis, as they prepare for the upcoming solar eclipse. They used flashlights, foam balls, and globes to see how the moon creates a shadow as it passes the Earth and the sun.
