Carl Sandburg Elementary School -

I started teaching in 2023 at Carl Sandburg Elementary. I graduated from Greenville University with a Bachelors in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I live locally in Greenup Illinois.

I graduated from Mattoon High School in 2014. I then graduated from Illinois State University with my Bachelor's of Science in Education in 2017. From there I began teaching in Sullivan for 3 years. After moving to Charleston, I started teaching at Carl Sandburg in 2020. I have taught multiple grade levels but first grade has my heart!!

Miss Hudson graduated from Eastern Illinois University with an Early Childhood Education degree and Elementary Enhancement. She began teaching at Carl Sandburg in Spring 2022, and taught Title I Math to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students. She currently teaches 1st Grade.

Ms. Repking grew up in Effingham and graduated from Effingham High School. She graduated with BS in Elementary Education from Murray State University in 1995. She then graduated with her Masters Degree from EIU in 2000. She will be starting her 25th year teaching 1st grade. Ms. Repking has 2 daughters, Abby age 22 and Ally age 18. Ms. Repking currently resides in Effingham

Hello! My name is Mrs. Richardson. I am a first grade teacher at Carl Sandburg and will be starting my first year teaching in the district this fall! I graduated from Eastern Illinois University and am super excited to see what this year has in store for us!

I am originally from Glen Carbon, Illinois, but have lived in Charleston for the last five years. I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with an Early Childhood Education degree, and am currently completing my Master's in reading. I will be starting my first year teaching first grade at Carl Sandburg.

I am from the Chicagoland area, but have lived in the Charleston area for over four years now. I just graduated from Eastern Illinois University this year with my bachelors degree in Elementary Education. This is my first year teaching first grade at Carl Sandburg.

Hello! I am a 1st grade teacher at Carl Sandburg School. I am from Charleston and have taught in the district for several years. I love teaching students how to read and feel very fortunate to work in such a wonderful district.

I grew up in Champaign and attended the University of Iowa. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and continued living in Iowa City for 9 years. I then moved to Charleston, where I earned my teaching certificate and Master's degree, both in Special Education. I currently teach 1st and 2nd Graders and work with them in my classroom as well as in their homerooms. I have a 22-year old daughter who works at Starbucks. She enjoys taking care of and visiting with her customers. We love to watch movies, travel and play with our little dog, Mater!

My name is Michelle Lynn. I have been a Learning Behavior Specialist, LBS1, at Carl Sandburg since 2011. I love working with students and watching their skills grow!

I have been with Charleston CUSD#1 since 2018 first as a paraprofessional and then as an LBS1. I am currently the K-3 Functional teacher at Carl Sandburg.

I am a Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS) at Carl Sandburg Elementary School. I have been with the Charleston School District for 17 years and have been teaching for 23 years. I love teaching reading and am a Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist (C-SLDI). I am also certified by the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education as an Orton Gillingham Certified Teacher.
