Attendance

Jefferson Elementary attendance procedures can be found in the Parent/Student Handbook.

Parent/Guardian Responsibility for Reporting Absences
Parents/Guardians are responsible for reporting their child's absence(s) to the school in a timely manner. Absences should be reported by contacting the school attendance office by phone no later than 10 a.m. or by sending a note with your child when he/she returns to school. Attendance office personnel are available to verify your child's absence. However, do not rely on the school office to contact you to verify your child's absence.  After your child has been absent, you need to provide an explanation for the absence to the school. Absences not verified within 10 days will be recorded as unexcused/truancy absences.

It is important that when your child misses school that you call the school at 639-7010 to report the reason for your child's absence. You may report absences using our voicemail after regular school hours. Parents/Guardians need to verify absences to avoid receiving truancy letters.

Jefferson Elementary staff is committed to making every day count for our students. However, in order to do this, we need your support in ensuring that your child attends school regularly.
