Research for Argumentative Video Game Violence Paper
The goal of this assignment is to:
- Read the research that is out there about homework
- Decide which position you believe (for violent video games, against violent video games, or violent video games are not the real issue)
- Write a thesis statement that:
- Takes a stand
- Justifies discussion (tells why it's important)
- Expresses one main idea
- Is specific
- Gives evidence (reasons why)
- Write an argumentative essay that includes:
- An intro with background and thesis statement
- Body paragraphs with evidence that logical, factual, statistical, or anecdotal (no opinion!)
- A body paragraph that examines the other side of the argument and refutes it with research
- A closing that summarizes your reasons why and restates your thesis
