     Jazz

 Pep Band Percussion Volunteers Resources
 
The CMS Jazz Band consists of members of the CMS Band who are interested in additional musical experiences with traditional jazz styles.  

Membership is through auditions and instrumentation expectations.  Instrumentation consists of 4-5 Trumpets, 2 Alto, 2 Tenor and 1 Baritone Sax, 4-5 Trombones (baritones), 2-3 Keyboards, 1-2 Electric Bass and 3-4 Percussion.  Additional instrumentation may be added as needed.

Students will study and perform both traditional and contemporary jazz music styles and vocal accompaniments.  Students are exposed to improvisation fundamentals throughout the Jazz Band year.           

Auditions will be held at the end of October.
