The Charleston Joint PTA has committed itself to helping parents understand the importance of supporting children in school activities, and encouraging parents and community members to be informed about issues in order to understand and support out schools. The Joint PTA is affiliated with the Illinois PTA as well as the National PTA which both provide a wealth of information and resources to its members.

 

The goal of the Charleston Joint PTA is to provide a setting where parents, principals, and community members can unite to improve the lives of children and youth through programs that address education, health and social concerns. 

 

The objectives of the Joint PTA, as listed in Article III (Purposes) of our by-laws, are as follows:

  1. To promote the welfare of the children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship

  2. To raise the standards of home life

  3. To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth

  4. To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth

  5. To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education
