I hope each and every student enjoys our math class, but more importantly, understands more about mathematics. Just a quick blurb about myself: I graduated from the University of Illinois with a major in mathematics and a minor in education. I have been teaching since the Fall of 2001 and am currently pursuing my Masters degree in mathematics through Eastern Illinois University. I look forward to serving my students by opening their minds to the beauty of math! Classroom Policies for Algebra Classroom Policies for Pre-Algebra Blank Graph Paper How To Study For A Math Test I am slowly posting the new textbook for the Pre-Algebra course under the new Common Core Standards. Access the online textbook here. Once a week we turn in all homework from the previous 5 days. I call it a Homework Check. Every week we will have a problem solving in class (extended response math problem) and a computatation assessment in class with no calculator covering basic arithmetic. Every week we will either have a quiz or test over material that students should have mastered. Assignments For a Little Before and After This Week Algebra

You can graph several different equations at once and they will be in different colors. This is useful for detecting patterns in how graphs change when we modify the equations. http://www.coolmath.com/graphit/index.html Online Graphing Calculator 2 - This calculator from Shodor is free to use and is run online. You can only graph a single equation at a time but you can print it by clicking Alt+PrintScreen then pasting the graph into a Word document. Then crop the image to get just your graph. http://www.shodor.org/interactivate/activities/graphit/ Changing Coefficients of Polynomials Program - This is a free program online that allows you to change the coefficients of the polynomial using the sliders at the top to see how it affects the graph. http://www.orthogonal.com.au/hobby/poly/ Library of Virtual Manipulatives - This site has many different games or examples of math concepts. These can help you understand different ideas if you don't get them in class. http://matti.usu.edu/nlvm/nav/vlibrary.html Rectangle Properties - This program from the U of I helps you to explore the relationship between perimeter and area in rectangles. http://www.mste.uiuc.edu/users/carvell/rectperim/RectPerim.html MSTE Programs - This is a list of all the programs that the U of I has put out.
