Work at School

All work for Computer Skills must be completed at school.  If you need more time than is allotted in class or if you need to make up work after an absence, you can in my room during Home Base or after school.  The IMC is open before school, but you will need to get a copy of the assignment instructions from me the day before in order to do the work.  If a project requires my assistance, you will have to set a make-up time with me so I’ll be available to help you.

Guidelines for Success

  1. Be prepared for class. Every day you are expected to have your planner and a pen/pencil.

    • We only have 40 minutes for class, so once you’re in my room, I expect you to stay.

    • Promptly take care of drinks and restroom visits before you come to class.  You must have your punch card punched to leave the room.

    • Follow the on-screen directions for the class.

  2. Pay attention. You MUST listen carefully to my directions and watch what I'm doing on the screen. Don’t talk when I’m talking or when you should be listening and/or working.

  3. When we’re working as a group to learn new material, we use the "Help Your Neighbor" method. Keep an eye on their computer and help if needed. This way we can keep the class moving. However, on assignments you must do your own work and ask me if you need help.

  4. Attend class and be on time.

  5. Take care of class property.

  6. Keep your work area clean. Push your chairs in when you leave them.

  7. Changing computer settings and using the Internet, Email, or any other programs without permission are not allowed.  You are NOT allowed to be on the Internet except at the END of class if there is extra time and you have been given permission.

  8. Gum is allowed as long as I don't see bubbles, hear popping, or find gum stuck in inappropriate places.

  9. Food, drinks, and candy are not allowed in the computer lab.

  10. SAVE PAPER!
